THE LEECH

‘The Leech’ was my response to our brief ‘Comic’, which is as it sounds. We had the choice to create a full comic book or an A2 poster. I wanted my comic to be a hand-drawn full book, basically what you typically think of when you hear ‘comic’.

The Leech follows the story of a homeless man that worms his way into a lonely, rich businessman’s life. He ends up wearing his clothes, taking his work calls, cutting him off from his friends and family, just leeching off of him. Finally having enough, the businessman calls out the homeless man on how he’s slowly destroying his life, which causes the homeless man to reveal his true identity, he is literally a leech.

The book closes with a dazed, overwhelmed-looking businessman, covered in blood smoking a cigarette. Did the leech take over a new body, or was it destroyed?
